Shirley Spinelli joined t : s : p   project management as a Principal in 2009, bringing more than twenty years of strong project management experience on both commercial architectural and interior projects. She is well known in the industry as a strong Project Manager and relationship manager for high-profile clients and accounts in the financial, legal, entertainment and corporate sectors; she is a skilled leader of teams whose mission is the delivery of strategically-designed, technically sound solutions; she provides hands-on involvement from feasibility studies through design, construction and occupancy; she is able to provide rigorous attention to detail within multiple competing priorities; she is a collaborative team builder with excellent communication skills. Shirley has a passion for excellence, a strategic approach to problem solving, a dedication to innovation and a drive to lead and mentor.

As a Project Manager, Shirley is well versed in the management of budgets and schedules, the coordination of project teams and has the ability to understand the organizational requirements of clients, most recently including Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc., TransGuard Insurance Company of America, Inc., Pathway Capital Management, LLC, iRise and multiple projects for Spear Street Capital.

Prior to joining t : s : p   project management, Shirley was the Senior Managing Director for Project Management in the Western United States at Cushman & Wakefield (C&W). She was responsible for the performance of the Project Management Group in the region while continuing her responsibilities as a Project Manager for selected clients including Analysis Group, Inc., The Capital Group Companies, Standard Chartered Bank and Amgen Inc. She oversaw a staff of 40+ professionals and was responsible for recruiting, assessing, training and the professional development of the staff. She was a member of the firm’s senior management team and a founding member of C&W’s Green Team, focused on developing internal processes to reduce the corporate carbon footprint and increase the awareness of green initiatives within the Los Angeles office.

In 2004, C&W acquired PMLA, LLC, a Project Management consulting firm. As the Managing Director, Shirley worked with the President of PMLA to ensure the successful performance of the firm while continuing her responsibilities as Project Manager for selected clients. In her capacity as a Project Manager, Shirley managed many complex and highly detailed projects, including Candle Corporation, DeVRY, Inc., Initiative Media, Lehman Brothers, U.S. Trust Company, Hyperion Solutions Corporation, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., Toyota Financial Services, Amgen Inc. and multiple projects for The Capital Group Companies.

Before joining PMLA, Shirley was a Senior Associate at Gensler where she completed numerous engagements for corporate, governmental, entertainment and hospitality clients, including the much heralded four-year renovation of the historic Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows with a budget in excess of $100 million, the Los Angeles law offices of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, the Los Angeles offices of Arthur Andersen LLP and a ground-up mixed-use project for the John Buck Company in Chicago.

Prior to her nine-year tenure at Gensler, Shirley worked for several major architectural and design firms including Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall (DMJM) in Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from California State University, Long Beach and is an active member of Los Angeles’ Downtown Breakfast Club, CoreNet Global and other local civic groups and volunteer organizations.
